Dr. Cortes attended Chula Vista's Castle Park High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating from high school, went on to work for huge telecommunications corporations, and then opted to return to school to pursue his passion for serving and helping people. He returned to school and graduated from the University of San Diego with a bachelor's degree in biology. He subsequently decided to pursue dentistry as his field of study and earned his doctorate from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He finally completed Oral Surgery externships at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital and Highland Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona (Oakland, California). Dr. Cortes attends continuing education classes every year to keep his credentials current and ensure that his patients have access to the most up-to-date technological breakthroughs.
